Who Enjoys Sex More: Women or Men?

“A man can have sex with a female with no
intentions of even knowing her name”.

Have you ever wondered what sex is like from your partner’s perspective? Is sex more pleasurable for the opposite sex? Think about it. This is a debatable topic to a certain extent. Some may say that it’s pleasurable to both sex; which I agree with. However, I also believe women enjoy sex so much more than men for a few reasons.

I stumbled upon this article “What a Greek Prophet can tell us about sex” from the New York Times. The article focused on this same question (which I think is worth reading by the way). I guess I am not the only one thinking about this after all. The author used two sources to support her thesis: Modern science and Greek Mythology. According to Helene Foley a professor at Columbia “ The Greeks believed that women’s bodies made them prone to instability whereas men, they were thought to be more emotionally, rationally and physically more stable and in control.They found that the lateral orbitofrontal cortex the part of the brain that controls reason and self-evaluation shuts down during climax. In other words, an orgasm is about loss of control which is why  women get more out of sex than men.

So why do I think  women enjoy sex more than men? Well first it really depends on the type of sex we are talking about. Different sex affects women and men differently. For example oral sex is something that most people shy from for all sorts of reasons. Whether it be culture, self-esteem, lack of comfort, or just not knowing what to do. However, I think oral sex is God’s gift to women! I also  believe it’s because women allow themselves to connect easier than men does. A male friend of mine told me, “A man can have sex with a female with no intentions of even knowing her name”. Therefore, connection; emotional connection at that is not always priority on a man’s list. In addition, I  believe it’s because we have the ability to have many/longer orgasms. According to Foley, women orgasms can last longer by an average of 20 seconds compare to men who climax for 3-10 seconds. Lastly, I believe age plays a significant role in sexual enjoyment. A woman who is older with experience insist on more things and know what they want. In other words, she uses her power. Like Oscar Wilde said “ Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power”.

I’d say enjoyment of sex has a lot to do with your partner. Being bedroom literate is important and Having chemistry plays a big role. Age is also a factor because things a man can do at 20 might be a bit harder to do at 50. Which explains why some older women date younger men.
