GRATEFUL AF!
It’s almost a challenge to write this blog post for the simple fact that I’m not sure if you’ll understand the depth of the matter. The matter of the heart that is! You see, there’s no amount of words I can substitute to express what I’m feeling inside. It’s kind of ironic since words are my favorite tools to use. May I remind you? I am a writer. The information I'm about to share with you is so precious to me. I hope you find fulfilment in it just as much as I do.
The Good, the bad, the Unfiltered:
June 2020 I decided to relaunch Unfiltered Soles because I felt the need to explain what Unfiltered Soles was/is. I am one of those individuals who appreciates reality more than images. Needless to say, it’s my duty to help my audience understand the reality of my brand. I organized a live session on Instagram to explain Unfiltered Soles. I thought the live relaunch session was a success, but I still felt that there were things left unsaid. I knew I wanted to dig a little deeper; but honestly, I did not know how! I did not ask for a doover, nor did I beat myself up about it. Instead, I prayed about it. Before ending this paragraph, I’d like to say this- never underestimate the power of an honest prayer. Fast forward to August, I received an email from Voyage Houston Magazine asking to feature my story as inspiration for their magazine.
The best prayer meetings comes out of the worst situations:
Stay around me long enough you’ll realize that I pray about everything. It may sound crazy, but I even pray before I take a shower. The last thing I want is to break three ribs or fracture my skull in a slippery tub. I know I kinda went far with that last sentence but trust me, accidents happen. Personally, I think it’s important to be in a constant dialogue with God. I am a living testimony that he listens. I was given a second chance to tell Unfiltered Soles' story; only this time, it’s everything I wanted to share, from beginning to now. It was not easy to share my story, but it was necessary.
