NYFW | FIFI FW 2019

Introduction
New York Fashion Week 2019! WOW where do I begin? I guess it all began with a simple search. I know you’ve seen the shows, you’ve heard about the exclusive collections but I have to tell you, nothing compares to a live show. I was honored to attend FIFI FW as a blogger. Between you and I, this was my first time being exposed to this level of creativity. Yes, I’ve been to many fashion shows before. Yes, I’ve sashayed on the runway before. However, never have I gotten close and personal to each designer as a reporter. Sit back, let me blow your mind with some exclusives from FIFI FW 2019.
DETAILS
A chance conversation via email sparked my big discovery. Through the email I was granted access to the mannequin showroom, the press/media lounge, and off course the show. At the mannequin showroom I had the pleasure to speak to the designers as well as the models. The passion that overwhelmed the room was fascinating. The closely selected few designers were a trend of people who mastered the art of creating unforgettable memories. Their stories were rare. I stumbled upon Jayden Allyn Washer, an eleven year old designer from Texas who captured my attention instantly. You heard me right, he is eleven years old. He was unique from the style of his hair to the details in his collection.
On the other side of this phenomenon, lies the required effort to bring this kind of show to life. Let’s talk about the organization of the event. It is no surprise that it takes an abundance of effort to bring this vision to life. Sofia Davis (Editor-in-chief of Fashion Avenue News Magazine) and her team redefined “ what it means to organize a fashion show”. There were no errors, no blemishes to the naked eye. Location was easy to access, Models were fed, Designers were on time, press/media were in formation, DJ was skillful, show started and ended on time- I can go on and on.
The show:
The selection of the show was tailored to fit that particular show. Underwood New York opened the show with his jaw dropping men collection. Boss lady lecoiffeur made an appearance like never before with her swimwear pieces. N by Nancy Yang stormed the runway with her bold colors of women wear. Bobette Eiza raised the bar to the ceiling with her handbag originals, Jaw by design unapologetically ripped the runway apart! Besides the point that he is a talented visionary who enjoys designing at 11 years old; he dares to be different. You can catch his exclusive interview here on this blog.
I decided to create an entire paragraph for this last designer. She is fierce, bold, and undeniably inspiring: Bling Darling by Sofiia Davis. Bling Darling is a collection of high couture sunglasses that only people with matching personalities will dare to wear. Each sunglasses had a significant character. They stood out in so many ways. It's impressive to see how someone can create so many different looks from eyewear. I call it the”lookbook”. Her collection should be used as inspiration for others.
